YAGUARETÉ
Yaguareté, from Spanish with Guarani origins:
"La verdadera fiera" — “The true beast.”
The collection was born from the desire to honour what is ours — mine and yours,
to look inward at a time when everything comes from elsewhere.
I bring the jaguar as a symbol of this desire to resist and move forward,
to be untamed.
From its spots, I carve feelings into abstract forms,
letting go of rigidity.
(I saw a hope rise from the fire in brighter times.)
Yaguareté is the symbiosis between the wild and the gentle.
The union of opposites that fascinates and frightens.
It is to carry on the skin both the claws and the wounds,
and to discover a path of healing between them.
To recognise yourself as a beast.
